20	19		AN ACT PROHIBITING DISCRETIONARY CLAUSE S IN DISABILITY
21	20		INCOME INSURANCE POL ICIES.
22	21		Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
23	22		Assembly convened:

25	24		Section 1. (NEW) (Effective January 1, 2020) No insurer, health care 1
26	25		center, fraternal benefit society, hospital service corporation, medical 2
27	26		service corporation or other entity delivering, issuing for delivery, 3
28	27		renewing, amending or continuing an individual or group health 4
29	28		insurance policy in this state on or after January 1, 2020, providing 5
30	29		coverage of the type specified in subdivision (5) of section 38a-469 of 6
31	30		the general statutes shall include in such policy a provision reserving 7
32	31		discretion to such insurer, center, society, corporation or entity to 8
33	32		interpret the terms of such policy, or provide standards for the 9
34	33		interpretation or review of such policy, that are inconsistent with the 10
35	34		laws of this state. 11
36	35		This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
