AN ACT CONCERNING A MEDICAID RECIPIENT'S RIGHT TO SELECT A CAREGIVER. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That title 17b of the general statutes be amended to allow a 1 Medicaid recipient to select a qualified caregiver, provided the care is 2 medically necessary and the caregiver is (1) a Medicaid-enrolled 3 provider trained in the type of care needed, (2) available, and (3) has 4 passed any required background checks. 5 Statement of Purpose: To allow Medicaid recipients or their authorized representatives to select their caregivers.
