AN ACT REQUIRING PRIOR APPROVAL OF ASSESSMENTS AND
USER FEES CHARGED TO HEALTH CARRIERS BY THE
CONNECTICUT HEALTH INSURANCE EXCHANGE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That chapter 706c of the general statutes be amended to require that 1
the exchange established pursuant to section 38a-1081 of the general 2
statutes hold a public hearing, and gain legislative approval, prior to 3
charging any assessment or user fee to health carriers. 4
Statement of Purpose:
To require the Connecticut Health Insurance Exchange to hold a public
hearing and gain legislative approval prior to charging any assessment
or user fee to health carriers.
