2020 AN ACT CONCERNING THE DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT OF
2121 PERSONS WITH ALZHEIMER'S AND DEMENTIA.
2222 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2323 Assembly convened:

2525 That the general statutes be amended to (1) allow physician's to 1
2626 share a patient's Alzheimer's diagnosis and treatment plan with the 2
2727 patient's family member or legal personal representative within the 3
2828 existing framework of federal and state privacy laws, and (2) require 4
2929 hospitals that serve an adult population to have an operational plan in 5
3030 place within three years for identifying and managing individuals with 6
3131 dementia. 7
3232 Statement of Purpose:
3333 To enable better communication of an Alzheimer's diagnosis and
3434 treatment plan to family members or legal representatives within state
3535 and federal privacy laws and require hospitals to have an operational
3636 plan for identifying and managing individuals with dementia.
