AN ACT CONCERNING THE EXTENSION OF SPECIAL EDUCATION 
SERVICES TO CERTAIN CHILDREN. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That subdivision (1) of subsection (b) of section 10-76d of the 1 
general statutes be amended to require that the obligation for each 2 
local and regional board of education to provide special education to a 3 
child shall terminate when such child reaches age twenty-one or is 4 
graduated from high school, whichever occurs later. 5 
Statement of Purpose:   
To extend special education services to children and young adults who 
need service for social, executive functioning and life skills.
