1818 AN ACT CONCERNING THE USE OF EMINENT DOMAIN.
1919 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2020 Assembly convened:

2222 That the general statutes be amended to (1) permit certain property 1
2323 owners to repurchase property taken from them by eminent domain if 2
2424 such property is not used for a public use and is subsequently resold; 3
2525 (2) prohibit persons from misrepresenting that they are authorized to 4
2626 acquire property by eminent domain by making such 5
2727 misrepresentation an unfair trade practice; (3) require that appraisals 6
2828 in eminent domain proceedings be conducted by licensed real estate 7
2929 appraisers in accordance with uniform standards; (4) require the 8
3030 consent of the parties before a court may appoint a judge trial referee 9
3131 to review a statement of compensation in an eminent domain 10
3232 proceeding; (5) increase the maximum payments for relocation 11
3333 assistance; and (6) revise the standards used by municipal legislative 12
3434 bodies prior to authorizing the use of eminent domain pursuant to a 13
3535 development plan under chapter 132 of the general statutes. 14
3636 Statement of Purpose:
