2019 AN ACT RAISING THE PERSONAL NEEDS ALLOWANCE FOR
2120 CERTAIN LONG-TERM CARE RESIDENTS.
2221 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General

2524 Section 1. Subsection (b) of section 17b-106 of the general statutes is 1
2625 repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective July 2
2726 1, 2019): 3
2827 (b) Effective July 1, [2011] 2019, the commissioner shall provide a 4
2928 state supplement payment for recipients of Medicaid and the federal 5
3029 Supplemental Security Income Program who reside in long-term care 6
3130 facilities sufficient to increase their personal needs allowance to [sixty] 7
3231 seventy-two dollars per month. Such state supplement payment shall 8
3332 be made to the long-term care facility to be deposited into the personal 9
3433 fund account of each such recipient. For the purposes of this 10
3534 subsection, "long-term care facility" means a licensed chronic and 11
3635 convalescent nursing home, a chronic disease hospital, a rest home 12
3736 with nursing supervision, an intermediate care facility for individuals 13
38-with intellectual disabilities or a state humane institution. 14

43+Sec. 2. Section 17b-272 of the general statutes is repealed and the 15
4644 following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective July 1, 2019): 16
