2019 AN ACT CONCERNING A STUDY OF NURSING HOME SERVICE S.
2120 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2221 Assembly convened:

2422 Section 1. (Effective from passage) (a) The Commissioner of Social 1
25-Services shall conduct a study of nursing homes to determine whether 2
26-(1) there is a sufficient number of nursing homes in the state; and (2) 3
27-the services offered by such nursing homes meet the state's residents' 4
28-need for long-term care. 5
29-(b) The study shall include, but need not be limited to, a report on: 6
30-(1) Decreases or increases in the total nursing home population 7
31-annually for fiscal years 2013 to 2018, inclusive; (2) state budget 8
32-expenditures on nursing home care in each of said fiscal years; (3) the 9
33-projected number of persons who will need nursing home care in fiscal 10
34-year 2021; and (4) whether any programmatic or legislative changes 11
35-are needed to better serve adults in need of institutionalized care. 12
36-(c) Not later than July 1, 2020, the Commissioner of Social Services 13
37-shall report on the results of the study, in accordance with the 14
38-provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes, to the joint standing 15
39-committees of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters 16 Raised Bill No. 565
