1818 AN ACT CONCERNING THE CREATION AND EXPANSION OF
1919 COMPUTER SCIENCE OPPORTUNITIES IN SCHOOLS.
2020 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2121 Assembly convened:

2323 That title 10 of the general statutes be amended to (1) require that all 1
2424 high schools in the state offer computer science beginning in the school 2
2525 year commencing July 1, 2021, (2) require that all elementary and 3
2626 middle schools in the state provide computer coding instruction to 4
2727 students, (3) require the creation a computer science endorsement for 5
2828 teacher certification, (4) require the creation of an alternate route to 6
2929 certification program for computer science teachers, (5) require that 7
3030 programs of teacher preparation include a computer science 8
3131 component, (6) provide funding for the inclusion of computer science 9
3232 in teacher professional development programs, (7) require the 10
3333 development of a state-wide digital literacy curriculum and coding 11
3434 curriculum for state-funded after-school programs, and (8) require an 12
3535 annual one-day summit that brings together students and top 13
3636 industries in the state so that students can learn more about career 14
