1818 AN ACT CONCERNING THE DISTRIBUTION OF COMPOSTABLE AND
1919 BIODEGRADABLE BAGS BY FOOD RETAILERS.
2020 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2121 Assembly convened:

2323 That the general statutes be amended to require that: (1) All produce 1
2424 bags offered to consumers at retail establishments be made of 2
2525 compostable and biodegradable polymers as certified by the 3
2626 Biodegradable Products Institute, and (2) that all such food retailers 4
2727 offer single-use bags for sale that are made of the same compostable 5
2828 and biodegradable polymers. 6
2929 Statement of Purpose:
3030 To encourage the development of environmentally friendly practices at
3131 grocery stores.
