AN ACT DEDICATING A PORTION OF THE OCCUPANCY TAXES TO
MUNICIPAL TOURISM INCENTIVE GRANTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to provide to each 1
municipality, in the fiscal year commencing July 1, 2020, and annually 2
thereafter, a tourism incentive grant from the revenue generated from 3
the occupancy taxes on hotels, lodging houses and bed and breakfasts 4
located in the municipality, such grants to be in an amount equal to 5
fifty per cent of the overage of revenue generated from such taxes in a 6
fiscal year compared to the amount of revenue generated from such 7
taxes in the municipality for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2020. 8
Statement of Purpose:
To provide municipal revenue and encourage municipal tourism
efforts.
