SEN. WITKOS, 8th Dist. AN ACT CONCERNING REVIEW AND DISMISSAL OF COMPLAINTS BY THE STATE ELECTIONS ENFORCEMENT COMMISSION. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That section 9-7a of the general statutes be amended to provide that 1 (1) the State Elections Enforcement Commission shall (A) establish a 2 dormancy docket consisting of any complaint or enforcement action 3 that has not been acted upon in a certain amount of time, and (B) 4 prescribe the timeline and procedures for review of any such 5 complaint or enforcement action for dismissal due to such inaction, 6 and (2) the respondent or respondents to any such complaint or 7 enforcement action may bring an interlocutory appeal to the Superior 8 Court if such complaint or enforcement action has been ongoing for 9 two years and no hearing thereon has been held. 10 Statement of Purpose: To establish procedures for the timely review and disposition of certain election complaints.
