AN ACT ESTABLISHING A CANNABIS EQUITY POLICY.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to establish a cannabis equity 1
policy through open legalization of cannabis, the expungement of 2
criminal records of cannabis convictions, tax incentives for cannabis-3
related businesses to hire ex-offenders, diversity requirements, 4
including for geographic diversity, within the licensing process for the 5
cannabis industry, a reinvestment scheme using revenue to hire ex-6
offenders into the industry, protections in housing and public services 7
and the creation of the "office of justice reinvestment" to oversee the 8
policy. 9
Statement of Purpose:
To establish a cannabis equity policy.
