AN ACT CONCERNING ADDITIONAL HOUSING PROTECTIONS FOR 
A VICTIM OF FAMILY VIOLENCE OR SEXUAL ASSAULT. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That chapter 830 of the general statutes be amended to provide that 1 
a landlord shall, upon the request of a tenant who is the victim of 2 
family violence or a sexual assault and who has a valid court order of 3 
protection, change the locks of the individual's dwelling unit at the 4 
expense of the tenant. 5 
Statement of Purpose:   
To increase safety for a victim of family violence or sexual assault 
when an order of protection has been issued by a civil or criminal 
court.
