Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. Subsection (c) of section 7-74 of the general statutes is 1 repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective 2 October 1, 2019): 3 (c) (1) The fee for one certified copy of a certificate of death for any 4 deceased person who was a veteran, as defined in subsection (a) of 5 section 27-103, shall be waived when such copy is requested by a 6 spouse, child or parent of such deceased veteran. 7 (2) The fee for one certified copy of a vital record may be waived 8 when such copy is sought in connection with a person's application for 9 assistance from the Soldiers, Sailors and Marines Fund, as established 10 under section 27-138. 11 This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: Committee Bill No. 781 LCO 3766 {\\PRDFS1\SCOUSERS\FORZANOF\WS\2019SB-00781- R02-SB.docx } 2 of 2 Section 1 October 1, 2019 7-74(c) VA Joint Favorable
