AN ACT CONCERNING FE ES FOR CERTIFIED COPIES OF VITAL 
RECORDS SOUGHT IN CO NNECTION WITH THE SO LDIERS, 
SAILORS AND MARINES FUND.  
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
Section 1. Subsection (c) of section 7-74 of the general statutes is 1 
repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective 2 
October 1, 2019): 3 
(c) (1) The fee for one certified copy of a certificate of death for any 4 
deceased person who was a veteran, as defined in subsection (a) of 5 
section 27-103, shall be waived when such copy is requested by a 6 
spouse, child or parent of such deceased veteran. 7 
(2) The fee for one certified copy of a vital record may be waived 8 
when such copy is sought in connection with a person's application for 9 
assistance from the Soldiers, Sailors and Marines Fund, as established 10 
under section 27-138. 11 
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following 
sections:
