920 AN ACT ESTABLISHING THE MEDAL OF MERIT FOR CIVILIANS.
1021 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
1122 Assembly convened:

13-Section 1. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2019) The Adjutant General and
14-two officers of field grade or above, appointed by the Adjutant
15-General, shall constitute a board of officers to receive
16-recommendations through military or civilian channels for the award
17-of the civilian medal of merit, within available appropriations, to any
18-person, except civilian employees of the armed forces, military
19-personnel of the armed forces or contractors of the armed forces, who
20-has distinguished himself or herself by exceptionally meritorious
21-conduct that contributes significantly to the accomplishment of the
22-armed forces' mission, and to make such awards as the board finds
23-suitable.
