AN ACT CONCERNING ME DICAID PAYMENT RATES FOR NURSE -
MIDWIVES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
Section 1. (Effective from passage) On and after July 1, 2019, no nurse-1
midwife, licensed pursuant to chapter 377 of the general statutes, shall 2
receive a lower Medicaid reimbursement rate than any obstetrician-3
gynecologist, licensed pursuant to chapter 370 of the general statutes, 4
for performing the same service or procedure as such obstetrician-5
gynecologist. The Commissioner of Social Services shall adopt or 6
amend regulations necessary to implement the provisions of this 7
section and shall seek any federal approval necessary. The 8
commissioner may implement policies and procedures in advance of 9
regulations adopted pursuant to this section, provided such policies 10
and procedures are published on the eRegulations System in advance 11
of such implementation. 12
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
sections:

obstetrician-gynecologists who perform the same services.
