24 | 24 | | Section 1. (Effective July 1, 2019) For purposes of this section, 1 |
---|
25 | 25 | | "HUSKY A" and "HUSKY B" have the same meaning as provided in 2 |
---|
26 | 26 | | section 17b-290 of the general statutes. The Commissioner of Social 3 |
---|
27 | 27 | | Services shall establish a system to ensure a seamless transition for 4 |
---|
28 | 28 | | children who transfer from HUSKY A to HUSKY B health care 5 |
---|
29 | 29 | | coverage. Such system shall include: (1) Standard documentation 6 |
---|
30 | 30 | | required for preauthorization and reauthorization of HUSKY B 7 |
---|
31 | 31 | | services, (2) a fixed timeline for decisions by the commissioner on 8 |
---|
32 | 32 | | requests for preauthorization and reauthorization of HUSKY B 9 |
---|
33 | 33 | | services, (3) immediate notification to a provider including, but not 10 |
---|
34 | 34 | | limited to, an occupational therapist or physical therapist, when a child 11 |
---|
35 | 35 | | for whom he or she provides health care services transfers from 12 |
---|
36 | 36 | | HUSKY A to HUSKY B health care coverage, (4) retroactive payments 13 |
---|
37 | 37 | | under HUSKY A for a provider who performs medically necessary 14 |
---|
38 | 38 | | services, as defined in section 17b-259b of the general statutes, in good 15 |
---|
39 | 39 | | faith for a child who had been enrolled in HUSKY A until the provider 16 Raised Bill No. 899 |
