2121 AN ACT CONCERNING TH E USE OF HOUSING VOUCHERS AT
2222 INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER EDUCATION.
2323 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2424 Assembly convened:

2626 Section 1. (Effective July 1, 2019) The Office of Higher Education, in 1
2727 collaboration with the Department of Housing and the governing 2
2828 boards of each institution of higher education in the state, shall study 3
2929 the rate of homelessness among students enrolled in institutions of 4
3030 higher education in the state and the feasibility of establishing a 5
3131 program to distribute housing vouchers for on-campus or off-campus 6
3232 housing to homeless students to alleviate homelessness in the student 7
3333 population. Such study shall include, but need not be limited to, 8
3434 strategies to fund such program for housing vouchers. On or before 9
3535 January 1, 2020, the executive director of the Office of Higher 10
3636 Education shall report, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-11
3737 4a of the general statutes, on the findings of such study to the joint 12
3838 standing committees of the General Assembly having cognizance of 13
