27 | 26 | | Section 1. (Effective from passage) (a) There is established a task force 1 |
---|
28 | 27 | | to study and develop strategies to develop, expand and improve the 2 |
---|
29 | 28 | | insurance industry workforce in this state. Such study shall include, 3 |
---|
30 | 29 | | but need not be limited to, the possible implementation of a pilot 4 |
---|
31 | 30 | | program to encourage the insurance industry to implement income-5 |
---|
32 | 31 | | sharing agreements to fund a debt-free workforce pipeline. 6 |

33 | 32 | | (b) The task force shall consist of the following members: 7 |
---|
34 | 33 | | (1) Two appointed by the speaker of the House of Representatives; 8 |
---|
35 | 34 | | (2) Two appointed by the president pro tempore of the Senate; 9 |
---|
36 | 35 | | (3) One appointed by the majority leader of the House of 10 |
---|

57 | 55 | | representative of the private colleges and universities in this state; and 25 |

60 | 58 | | (c) Any member of the task force appointed under subdivision (1), 28 |

61 | 59 | | (2), (3), (4), (5) or (6) of subsection (b) of this section may be a member 29 |

62 | 60 | | of the General Assembly. 30 |

63 | 61 | | (d) All appointments to the task force shall be made not later than 31 |

64 | 62 | | thirty days after the effective date of this section. Any vacancy shall be 32 |
---|
65 | 63 | | filled by the appointing authority. 33 |

66 | 64 | | (e) The speaker of the House of Representatives and the president 34 |
---|
67 | 65 | | pro tempore of the Senate shall select the chairpersons of the task force 35 |
---|
68 | 66 | | from among the members of the task force. Such chairpersons shall 36 |

77 | 74 | | (f) The administrative staff of the joint standing committee of the 39 |

78 | 75 | | General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to insurance 40 |
---|
79 | 76 | | shall serve as administrative staff of the task force. 41 |

80 | 77 | | (g) Not later than January 1, 2020, the task force shall submit a 42 |

81 | 78 | | report on its findings and recommendations to the joint standing 43 |
---|
82 | 79 | | committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters 44 |
---|
83 | 80 | | relating to insurance, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-45 |
---|
84 | 81 | | 4a of the general statutes. The task force shall terminate on the date 46 |
---|
85 | 82 | | that it submits such report or January 1, 2020, whichever is later. 47 |
---|
86 | 83 | | This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following |
