1419 AN ACT ESTABLISHING A TASK FORCE TO STUDY
1520 REIMBURSEMENT RATES PAID BY HEALTH CARRIERS TO
1621 HOSPITALS.
1722 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
1823 Assembly convened:

2025 Section 1. (Effective from passage) (a) There is established a task force 1
2126 to study reimbursement rates paid by health carriers to hospitals. 2
2227 (b) The task force shall consist of the following members: 3
2328 (1) Two appointed by the speaker of the House of Representatives; 4
2429 (2) Two appointed by the president pro tempore of the Senate; 5
2530 (3) One appointed by the majority leader of the House of 6

2732 (4) One appointed by the majority leader of the Senate; 8
2833 (5) One appointed by the minority leader of the House of 9

4044 (9) The executive director of the Office of Health Strategy, or the 15
4145 executive director's designee; and 16
42-(10) Two persons appointed by the Governor, one of whom shall be 17
43-selected by the Connecticut Hospital Association. 18
44-(c) Any member of the task force appointed under subdivision (1), 19
45-(2), (3), (4), (5) or (6) of subsection (b) of this section may be a member 20
46-of the General Assembly. 21
47-(d) All appointments to the task force shall be made not later than 22
48-thirty days after the effective date of this section. Any vacancy shall be 23
49-filled by the appointing authority. 24
50-(e) The speaker of the House of Representatives and the president 25
51-pro tempore of the Senate shall select the chairpersons of the task force 26
52-from among the members of the task force. Such chairpersons shall 27
53-schedule the first meeting of the task force, which shall be held not 28
54-later than sixty days after the effective date of this section. 29
55-(f) The administrative staff of the joint standing committee of the 30
56-General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to insurance 31
57-shall serve as administrative staff of the task force. 32
58-(g) Not later than January 1, 2020, the task force shall submit a 33
59-report on its findings and recommendations to the joint standing 34
60-committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters 35
61-relating to insurance, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-36
62-4a of the general statutes. The task force shall terminate on the date 37
63-that it submits such report or January 1, 2020, whichever is later. 38
