21	19		AN ACT ESTABLISHING A TASK FORCE TO STUDY THE
22	20		INSURANCE DEPARTMENT .
23	21		Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
24	22		Assembly convened:

26	24		Section 1. (Effective from passage) (a) There is established a task force 1
27	25		to study the Insurance Department. 2
28	26		(b) The task force shall consist of the following members: 3
29	27		(1) Two appointed by the speaker of the House of Representatives; 4
30	28		(2) Two appointed by the president pro tempore of the Senate; 5
31	29		(3) One appointed by the majority leader of the House of 6
32	30		Representatives; 7
33	31		(4) One appointed by the majority leader of the Senate; 8
34	32		(5) One appointed by the minority leader of the House of 9
35	33		Representatives; 10

43	40		(7) The Insurance Commissioner, or the commissioner's designee; 12

45	42		(8) Two persons appointed by the Governor. 14
46	43		(c) Any member of the task force appointed under subdivision (1), 15
47	44		(2), (3), (4), (5) or (6) of subsection (b) of this section may be a member 16
48	45		of the General Assembly. 17
49	46		(d) All appointments to the task force shall be made not later than 18
50	47		thirty days after the effective date of this section. Any vacancy shall be 19
51	48		filled by the appointing authority. 20
52	49		(e) The speaker of the House of Representatives and the president 21
53	50		pro tempore of the Senate shall select the chairpersons of the task force 22
54	51		from among the members of the task force. Such chairpersons shall 23
55	52		schedule the first meeting of the task force, which shall be held not 24
56	53		later than sixty days after the effective date of this section. 25
57	54		(f) The administrative staff of the joint standing committee of the 26
58	55		General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to insurance 27
59	56		shall serve as administrative staff of the task force. 28
60	57		(g) Not later than January 1, 2020, the task force shall submit a 29
61	58		report on its findings and recommendations to the joint standing 30
62	59		committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters 31
63	60		relating to insurance, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-32
64	61		4a of the general statutes. The task force shall terminate on the date 33
65	62		that it submits such report or January 1, 2020, whichever is later. 34
