2119 AN ACT ESTABLISHING A TASK FORCE TO STUDY THE
2220 INSURANCE DEPARTMENT .
2321 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General

2624 Section 1. (Effective from passage) (a) There is established a task force 1
2725 to study the Insurance Department. 2
2826 (b) The task force shall consist of the following members: 3
2927 (1) Two appointed by the speaker of the House of Representatives; 4
3028 (2) Two appointed by the president pro tempore of the Senate; 5
3129 (3) One appointed by the majority leader of the House of 6
3230 Representatives; 7
3331 (4) One appointed by the majority leader of the Senate; 8
3432 (5) One appointed by the minority leader of the House of 9

4340 (7) The Insurance Commissioner, or the commissioner's designee; 12

4542 (8) Two persons appointed by the Governor. 14
4643 (c) Any member of the task force appointed under subdivision (1), 15
4744 (2), (3), (4), (5) or (6) of subsection (b) of this section may be a member 16
4845 of the General Assembly. 17
4946 (d) All appointments to the task force shall be made not later than 18
5047 thirty days after the effective date of this section. Any vacancy shall be 19
5148 filled by the appointing authority. 20
5249 (e) The speaker of the House of Representatives and the president 21
5350 pro tempore of the Senate shall select the chairpersons of the task force 22
5451 from among the members of the task force. Such chairpersons shall 23
5552 schedule the first meeting of the task force, which shall be held not 24
5653 later than sixty days after the effective date of this section. 25
5754 (f) The administrative staff of the joint standing committee of the 26
5855 General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to insurance 27
5956 shall serve as administrative staff of the task force. 28
6057 (g) Not later than January 1, 2020, the task force shall submit a 29
6158 report on its findings and recommendations to the joint standing 30
6259 committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters 31
6360 relating to insurance, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-32
6461 4a of the general statutes. The task force shall terminate on the date 33
6562 that it submits such report or January 1, 2020, whichever is later. 34
