| 22 | 22 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Assembly convened: |

|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2019) (a) In any municipality 1 |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | where a solid waste collector has arrangements, contractual or 2 |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | otherwise, with residents of such municipality for the provision of 3 |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | trash collection and disposal services, the chief executive officer of 4 |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | such municipality shall give notice of not less than sixty days to such 5 |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | solid waste collector in the event such municipality will (1) begin 6 |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | directly providing such trash collection and disposal services to the 7 |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | residents of such municipality, or (2) contract with another solid waste 8 |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | collector for the provision of such services to such residents. 9 |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | (b) For not less than one year after the date on which such notice is 10 |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | given, (1) the municipality shall be prohibited from providing such 11 |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | trash collection and disposal services, (2) any solid waste collector with 12 |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | which such municipality subsequently contracts for the provision of 13 |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | such services shall be prohibited from providing such services, and (3) 14 Raised Bill No. 1011 |
