AN ACT CONCERNING PU BLIC UTILITY WORKFORCE 
DEVELOPMENT. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
Section 1. Section 10-98a of the general statutes is repealed and the 1 
following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective October 1, 2019): 2 
The director of each technical education and career school shall 3 
meet with members of the business community, representatives of 4 
electric, gas, water and wastewater utilities and representatives from 5 
state colleges and universities offering courses in public utility 6 
management within the geographic area served by the technical 7 
education and career school to develop a plan to assess workforce 8 
needs and implement curriculum modifications to address those 9 
needs.  10 
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following 
sections:

Statement of Purpose:   
To require the director of each technical education and career school to 
meet with representatives of public utilities and representatives of 
certain state colleges and universities to assess workforce needs and 
implement curriculum modifications.
