18 | 24 | | Section 1. (Effective July 1, 2019) (a) There is established a study 1 |

19 | 25 | | group to (1) consider the feasibility of the regionalization of election 2 |
---|
20 | 26 | | administration and the role of registrars of voters in such 3 |
---|
21 | 27 | | regionalization, (2) examine opportunities for municipalities to 4 |
---|
22 | 28 | | implement any such regionalization, and (3) develop best practices, 5 |
---|
23 | 29 | | including identifying efficiencies, for the administration of elections. 6 |
---|
24 | 30 | | (b) The study group shall consist of the following members: 7 |
---|
25 | 31 | | (1) The Secretary of the State, or the Secretary's designee; 8 |
---|
26 | 32 | | (2) Two appointed by the chairpersons of the joint standing 9 |
---|
27 | 33 | | committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters 10 |
---|
28 | 34 | | relating to elections, in consultation with the ranking members of such 11 |
---|
29 | 35 | | committee, each of whom shall be enrolled in a different political party 12 |

57 | | - | (c) All appointments or designations to the study group shall be 34 |

58 | | - | made not later than thirty days after the effective date of this section. 35 |

59 | | - | Any vacancy shall be filled by the appointing or designating authority. 36 |
