921 AN ACT DESIGNATING VARIOUS DAYS AND WEEK S.
1022 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
1123 Assembly convened:

13-Section 1. Subsection (a) of section 10-29a of the general statutes is
14-amended by adding subdivisions (87) to (97), inclusive, as follows
15-(Effective from passage):
16-(NEW) (87) The Governor shall proclaim June fifteenth of each year
17-to be Cadet Nurse Corps Day to honor women who served during the
18-Second World War as members of the Cadet Nurse Corps. Suitable
19-exercises may be held in the State Capitol and elsewhere as the
20-Governor designates for the observance of the day.
21-(NEW) (88) The Governor shall proclaim the fourth week in May of
22-each year to be Connecticut Older Horse Week to spread awareness of
23-the active role that horses play in farming, sports and entertainment
24-and to recognize the retired horses of the state. Suitable exercises may
25-be held in the State Capitol and elsewhere as the Governor designates
26-for the observance of the week.
27-(NEW) (89) The Governor shall proclaim the first week in
28-September of each year to be Kidney Disease Awareness Week to raise
29-public awareness of the associated presentation and available Senate Bill No. 1091

39-observance of the week.
40-(NEW) (90) The Governor shall proclaim November twenty-second
41-of each year to be 22q11.2 Deletion Syndrome Day to raise public
42-awareness of this genetic disease and available treatments for it.
43-Suitable exercises may be held in the State Capitol and elsewhere as
44-the Governor designates for the observance of the day.
45-(NEW) (91) The Governor shall proclaim May seventeenth of each
46-year to be Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma Day to raise public
47-awareness of this type of brain cancer. Suitable exercises may be held
48-in the State Capitol and elsewhere as the Governor designates for the
49-observance of the day.
50-(NEW) (92) The Governor shall proclaim December sixth of each
51-year to be Thirteenth Amendment Day to reflect upon, remember and
52-celebrate the ratification of the thirteenth amendment to the United
53-States Constitution, which abolished slavery. Suitable exercises may be
54-held in the State Capitol and elsewhere as the Governor designates for
55-the observance of the day.
56-(NEW) (93) The Governor shall proclaim June third of each year to
57-be Clubfoot Day to raise public awareness of this musculoskeletal birth
58-deformity and available treatments for it. Suitable exercises may be
59-held in the State Capitol and elsewhere as the Governor designates for
60-the observance of the day.

71-cruiser and the service, sacrifice and bravery of the sailors of
72-Connecticut who served aboard the ship during World War II, and in
73-recognition of the U.S.S. Indianapolis CA-35's final sailing crew, the
74-pilots who discovered the survivors and the rescue and recovery
75-crews. Suitable exercises may be held in the State Capitol and
76-elsewhere as the Governor designates for the observance of the day.
77-(NEW) (96) The Governor shall proclaim April sixteenth of each
78-year to be Advance Directive Awareness Day to raise public awareness
79-of the importance of planning ahead for health care decisions and to
80-encourage the use of advance directives. Suitable exercises may be
81-held in the State Capitol and elsewhere as the Governor designates for
82-the observance of the day.
83-(NEW) (97) The Governor shall proclaim May sixth of each year to
84-be Moyamoya Awareness Day to raise public awareness of the
85-symptoms and available treatments for this cerebrovascular disease.
86-Suitable exercises may be held in the State Capitol and elsewhere as
87-the Governor designates for the observance of the day.
88-Sec. 2. Subdivision (85) of subsection (a) of section 10-29a of the
89-general statutes is repealed and the following is substituted in lieu
90-thereof (Effective from passage):
91-(85) The Governor shall proclaim November [thirtieth] first of each
92-year to be Sikh Genocide Remembrance Day to remember the lives lost

105+account" which shall be a separate, nonlapsing account within the 69
106+General Fund. The account shall contain any moneys required by law 70
107+to be deposited in the account. Moneys in the account shall be 71
108+expended by the Secretary of the State for the purposes of supporting 72
109+the activities of the Centennial Commission on Women's Suffrage. The 73
110+Secretary of the State may accept donations, grants or financial 74
111+assistance for such purpose, which shall be deposited in the account. 75 Raised Bill No. 1091
