21	20		AN ACT CONCERNING GO VERNMENT ADMINISTRATION.
22	21		Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
23	22		Assembly convened:

25	24		Section 1. Section 2-35a of the general statutes is repealed and the 1
26	25		following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective October 1, 2019): 2
27	26		The joint standing committee of the General Assembly having 3
28	27		cognizance of matters relating to government administration, 4
29	28		organization and reorganization shall be charged with the duty and 5
30	29		responsibility of overseeing all government organization and 6
31	30		reorganization and in particular any transfer, allocation or 7
32	31		consolidation of any state department or agency. The committee shall 8
33	32		[have responsibility] be responsible for continuing review of the 9
34	33		organization and reorganization of state departments and agencies and 10
35	34		may from time to time make recommendations to the General 11
36	35		Assembly with regard to government organization and reorganization. 12
37	36		Sec. 2. Section 4-38j of the general statutes is repealed and the 13

45	43		The Secretary of the Office of Policy and Management and each 15
46	44		department head, as defined [by] in section 4-5, shall (1) submit to the 16
47	45		joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance 17
48	46		of matters relating to government administration, organization and 18
49	47		reorganization upon request (A) a report [upon request,] on the 19
50	48		progress and implementation of reorganization, and [upon request 20
51	49		shall also furnish to the committee] (B) any information concerning 21
52	50		reorganization, or (2) appear before the committee to provide such 22
53	51		information as may be determined by the chairpersons of said 23
54	52		committee. 24
55	53		This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
