AN ACT CONCERNING TH E CONVEYANCE OF A PA RCEL OF STATE 
PROPERTY IN THE TOWN OF BEACON FALLS. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
Section 1. (Effective from passage) (a) Notwithstanding any provision 1 
of the general statutes, the Commissioner of Transportation shall 2 
convey to the town of Beacon Falls a parcel of land located in the town 3 
of Beacon Falls at no cost other than that associated with the survey to 4 
be completed under this subsection. Said parcel of land has an area of 5 
approximately 0.125 acre and is identified as a portion of the parcel of 6 
land adjacent to the intersection of North Main Street and Church 7 
Street. The commissioner shall identify said parcel upon completion of 8 
a Class A-2 horizontal survey completed and paid for by the town of 9 
Beacon Falls. The precise size and location of said parcel to be 10 
conveyed, as well as any easement to be reserved in favor of the state, 11 
shall be determined by the commissioner. The conveyance shall be 12 
subject to the approval of the State Properties Review Board. 13

(b) The town of Beacon Falls shall use said parcel of land for the 14 
purpose of relocating the historic Rimmon Schoolhouse. If the town of 15 
Beacon Falls: 16 
(1) Does not use said parcel for said purpose; 17 
(2) Does not retain ownership of all of said parcel; or 18 
(3) Leases all or any portion of said parcel, 19 
the parcel shall revert to the state of Connecticut. 20 
(c) The State Properties Review Board shall complete its review of 21 
the conveyance of said parcel of land not later than thirty days after it 22 
receives a proposed agreement from the Department of 23 
Transportation. The land shall remain under the care and control of 24 
said department until a conveyance is made in accordance with the 25 
provisions of this section. The State Treasurer shall execute and deliver 26 
any deed or instrument necessary for a conveyance under this section, 27 
which deed or instrument shall include provisions to carry out the 28 
purposes of subsection (b) of this section. The commissioner shall have 29 
the sole responsibility for all other incidents of such conveyance. 30 
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following 
sections:
