9-AN ACT CONCERNING TH E CONVEYANCE OF A PA RCEL OF
10-STATE PROPERTY IN THE TOWN OF BEACON FAL LS.

26+AN ACT CONCERNING TH E CONVEYANCE OF A PA RCEL OF STATE
27+PROPERTY IN THE TOWN OF BEACON FALLS.
1128 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
1229 Assembly convened:

14-Section 1. (Effective from passage) (a) Notwithstanding any provision
15-of the general statutes, the Commissioner of Transportation shall
16-convey to the town of Beacon Falls a parcel of land located in the town
17-of Beacon Falls at no cost other than that associated with the survey to
18-be completed under this subsection. Said parcel of land has an area of
19-approximately 0.125 acre and is identified as a portion of the parcel of
20-land adjacent to the intersection of North Main Street and Church
21-Street. The commissioner shall identify said parcel upon completion of
22-a Class A-2 horizontal survey completed and paid for by the town of
23-Beacon Falls. The precise size and location of said parcel to be
24-conveyed, as well as any easement to be reserved in favor of the state,
25-shall be determined by the commissioner. The conveyance shall be
26-subject to the approval of the State Properties Review Board.
27-(b) The town of Beacon Falls shall use said parcel of land for the
28-purpose of relocating the historic Rimmon Schoolhouse. If the town of
29-Beacon Falls:
30-(1) Does not use said parcel for said purpose; Senate Bill No. 1201

34-(2) Does not retain ownership of all of said parcel; or
35-(3) Leases all or any portion of said parcel,
36-the parcel shall revert to the state of Connecticut.
37-(c) The State Properties Review Board shall complete its review of
38-the conveyance of said parcel of land not later than thirty days after it
39-receives a proposed agreement from the Department of
40-Transportation. The land shall remain under the care and control of
41-said department until a conveyance is made in accordance with the
42-provisions of this section. The State Treasurer shall execute and deliver
43-any deed or instrument necessary for a conveyance under this section,
44-which deed or instrument shall include provisions to carry out the
45-purposes of subsection (b) of this section. The commissioner shall have
46-the sole responsibility for all other incidents of such conveyance.
