9-AN ACT CONCERNING TH E CONVEYANCE OF CERT AIN
10-PARCELS OF STATE LAN D IN THE TOWN OF CHESHIRE.

27+OF STATE LAND IN THE TOWN OF CHESHIRE.
1128 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
1229 Assembly convened:

14-Section 1. (Effective from passage) (a) Notwithstanding any provision
15-of the general statutes, the Commissioner of Transportation shall
16-convey to the town of Cheshire three parcels of land located in the
17-town of Cheshire at a cost equal to the administrative costs of making
18-such conveyance. The first parcel of land has an area of approximately
19-3.59 acres and is identified as Lot 31 on town of Cheshire Tax
20-Assessor's Map 4. The second parcel of land has an area of
21-approximately 0.88 acre and is identified as Lot 32 on town of Cheshire
22-Tax Assessor's Map 4. The third parcel of land has an area of
23-approximately 43.6 acres and is identified as Lot 33 on town of
24-Cheshire Tax Assessor's Map 4. The precise size and area of said
25-parcels to be conveyed shall be determined by the commissioner. The
26-conveyance of said parcels shall be subject to the approval of the State
27-Properties Review Board.
28-(b) The town of Cheshire shall sell said parcels of land for economic
29-development purposes. If the town does not sell said parcels for
30-economic development purposes within five years after the
31-conveyance, the parcels shall revert to the state of Connecticut. Any Senate Bill No. 1204

35-sale of said parcels shall be made at a cost equal to the fair market
36-value of said parcels, as determined by the average of the appraisals of
37-two independent appraisers selected by the commissioner. Such
38-appraisals shall be completed not later than six months after such
39-conveyance and shall be updated as necessary. Any funds received by
40-the town of Cheshire from a sale in accordance with this subsection
41-shall be transferred to the State Treasurer for deposit in the Special
42-Transportation Fund.
43-(c) The State Properties Review Board shall complete its review of
44-the conveyance of said parcels of land not later than thirty days after it
45-receives a proposed agreement from the Department of
46-Transportation. The land shall remain under the care and control of
47-said department until a conveyance is made in accordance with the
48-provisions of this section. The State Treasurer shall execute and deliver
49-any deed or instrument necessary for a conveyance under this section,
50-which deed or instrument shall include provisions to carry out the
51-purposes of subsection (b) of this section. The commissioner shall have
52-the sole responsibility for all other incidents of such conveyance.
