9-AN ACT CONCERNING TH E CONVEYANCE OF A PA RCEL OF
10-STATE LAND IN THE CITY OF WATERBURY.

26+AN ACT CONCERNING TH E CONVEYANCE OF A PA RCEL OF STATE
27+LAND IN THE CITY OF WATERBURY.
1128 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
1229 Assembly convened:

14-Section 1. (Effective from passage) (a) Notwithstanding any provision
15-of the general statutes, the Commissioner of Transportation shall
16-convey to the city of Waterbury a parcel of land located in the city of
17-Waterbury at a cost equal to the administrative costs of making such
18-conveyance. Said parcel of land has an area of approximately .11 acre
19-and is located at 140 Brookdale Lane in the city of Waterbury and is
20-identified as Lot 8 in Block 114 of city of Waterbury Tax Assessor's
21-Map 420. The conveyance shall be subject to the approval of the State
22-Properties Review Board.
23-(b) The city of Waterbury shall use said parcel of land for
24-community garden purposes, to be managed by a neighborhood
25-association. If the city of Waterbury:
26-(1) Does not use said parcel for said purposes;
27-(2) Does not retain ownership of all of said parcel; or
28-(3) Leases all or any portion of said parcel, Senate Bill No. 1209

34-the conveyance of said parcel of land not later than thirty days after it
35-receives a proposed agreement from the Department of
36-Transportation. The land shall remain under the care and control of
37-said department until a conveyance is made in accordance with the
38-provisions of this section. The State Treasurer shall execute and deliver
39-any deed or instrument necessary for a conveyance under this section,
40-which deed or instrument shall include provisions to carry out the
41-purposes of subsection (b) of this section. The Commissioner of
42-Transportation shall have the sole responsibility for all other incidents
43-of such conveyance.
