1923 AN ACT EXEMPTING VETERANS FROM THE PASSPORT TO THE
20-PARKS MOTOR VEHICLE REGISTRATION FEE.

2125 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General

24-Section 1. Subsection (b) of section 14-49b of the 2020 supplement to 1
25-the general statutes is repealed and the following is substituted in lieu 2
26-thereof (Effective July 1, 2020): 3
27-(b) For each new registration or renewal of registration of any motor 4
28-vehicle with the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles pursuant to this 5
29-chapter, the person registering such vehicle shall pay to the 6
30-commissioner a fee of fifteen dollars for registration for a triennial 7
31-period or ten dollars for registration for a biennial period for the 8
32-following registration types: Passenger, motorcycle, motor home, 9
33-combination or antique. Any person who is sixty-five years or older and 10
34-who obtains a one-year registration renewal under section 14-49 for 11
35-such registration type shall pay five dollars for the annual registration 12
36-period. Any person who is a veteran, as defined in subsection (a) of 13
37-section 27-103, shall be exempt from payment of the fee required by this 14
38-subsection, provided such person presents to the commissioner or the 15
39-commissioner's authorized representative documentation indicating 16

45-such person's status as a veteran. The provisions of this subsection shall 17
46-not apply to any motor vehicle that is not self-propelled or that is 18
47-exempted from payment of a registration fee. This fee shall be identified 19
48-as the "Passport to the Parks Fee" on any registration form provided by 20
49-the commissioner. Payments collected pursuant to the provisions of this 21
50-subsection shall be deposited in the Passport to the Parks account 22
51-established pursuant to section 23-15h. The fee required by this 23
52-subsection is in addition to any other fees prescribed by any other 24
53-provision of this title for the registration of a motor vehicle. No part of 25
54-the "Passport to the Parks Fee" shall be subject to a refund under 26
55-subsection (z) of section 14-49. 27
56-This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
