1818 AN ACT PROHIBITING THE OFFERING OF SLEEPING
1919 ACCOMMODATIONS AT HOTELS, MOTELS OR SIMILAR LODGINGS
2020 AT AN HOURLY RATE AND REQUIRING THAT USERS OF SUCH
2121 PLACES OF PUBLIC ACCOMMODATION PROVIDE THE OPERATOR
2222 WITH POSITIVE PROOF OF IDENTIFICATION.
2323 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2424 Assembly convened:

2626 That the general statutes be amended to provide that (1) no operator 1
2727 of a hotel, motel or similar lodging shall offer an hourly rate for any 2
2828 sleeping accommodation maintained by such hotel, motel or similar 3
2929 lodging, and (2) the operator of a hotel, motel or similar lodging shall 4
3030 require that a person procuring any sleeping accommodation at such 5
3131 hotel, motel or similar lodging shall, at the time of occupancy of the 6
3232 sleeping accommodation, provide positive proof of identification to the 7
3333 operator. 8
3434 Statement of Purpose:
3535 To protect victims of sex trafficking and enhance the ability of law
3636 enforcement personnel to apprehend and prosecute individuals who
3737 promote sex trafficking.
