AN ACT ELIMINATING THE REQUIREMENT THAT A REAL ESTATE CLOSING BE CONDUCTED BY AN ATTORNEY WHO IS LICENSED AND IN GOOD STANDING IN THIS STATE. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That section 51-88a of the general statutes be repealed. 1 Statement of Purpose: To eliminate the requirement that a real estate closing be conducted by an attorney who is licensed and in good standing in this state.
