AN ACT CONCERNING A PROPERTY OWNER'S LIABILITY FOR THE EXPENSES OF REMOVING A FALLEN TREE OR TREE LIMB. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to impose liability on the owner 1 of real property for the expenses of removing a tree or limb from a tree 2 located on such real property that falls on adjoining private real 3 property, provided an arborist, as defined in section 23-61a of the 4 general statutes, inspected the tree or tree limb and documented that 5 such tree or tree limb was dead, hazardous or likely to fall on an 6 adjoining private property's land. 7 Statement of Purpose: To impose liability on an owner of private real property for the expenses of removing a tree or tree limb located on such real property that falls on adjoining private real property.
