AN ACT CONCERNING A STUDY OF TECHNOLOGY THAT POLICE 
OFFICERS, FIREFIGHTERS AND EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES 
PERSONNEL MAY USE WHEN RESPONDING TO OPIOID 
OVERDOSES. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection, in 1 
consultation with the Department of Public Health, study the 2 
technologies, including global positioning system technology, that are 3 
available to police officers, firefighters and emergency medical services 4 
personnel to use when responding to opioid overdoses. 5 
Statement of Purpose:   
To study technologies that may assist police officers, firefighters and 
emergency medical services personnel when responding to opioid 
overdoses.
