AN ACT IMPOSING AN INSURANCE SURCHARGE TO SUPPORT
FIREFIGHTERS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That title 38a of the general statutes be amended to impose a 1
surcharge on certain personal and commercial risk insurance policies for 2
real property to generate revenue that is sufficient to fund: (1) 3
Firefighter recruitment and training; and (2) a state-wide reserve of 4
firefighting equipment and associated materials. 5
Statement of Purpose:
To impose a surcharge on certain personal and commercial risk
insurance policies for real property to generate revenue that is sufficient
to fund: (1) Firefighter recruitment and training; and (2) a state-wide
reserve of firefighting equipment and associated materials.
