2020 AN ACT CONCERNING REQUIRED HEALTH INSURANCE
2121 COVERAGE FOR BENEFITS RELATED TO BREAST CANCER.
2222 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2323 Assembly convened:

2525 That sections 38a-503 and 38a-530 of the general statutes be amended 1
2626 to: (1) Require health insurance coverage for diagnostic mammograms, 2
2727 ultrasound screenings and magnetic resonance imaging of breasts and 3
2828 breast biopsies for both women and men; (2) reduce the minimum age 4
2929 at which an individual or group health insurance policy is required to 5
3030 provide coverage for a baseline mammogram from thirty-five to thirty 6
3131 years of age; and (3) require health insurance coverage for the detection 7
3232 and diagnosis of breast cancer in an individual who has been treated for 8
3333 a childhood cancer, and received radiation treatment that was directed 9
3434 at the individual's chest as part of the treatment for said childhood 10
3535 cancer, regardless of such individual's age. 11
3636 Statement of Purpose:
3737 To: (1) Require health insurance coverage for diagnostic mammograms,
