AN ACT INCREASING FLEXIBILITY AND AUTONOMY IN THE
ADMINISTRATION OF EDUCATION IN SCHOOL DISTRICTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That section 10-4v of the general statutes be amended to authorize the 1
Commissioner of Education to grant an innovation waiver to a local or 2
regional board of education for any education or curriculum mandate if 3
such board can demonstrate that such mandate is not beneficial to the 4
school district or a particular school in the school district. 5
Statement of Purpose:
To provide more flexibility and autonomy to boards of education in the
administration of education in their school districts.
