PAVALOCK-D'AMATO, 77th Dist. REP. CARNEY, 23rd Dist. AN ACT PREVENTING DELIVERY RATE INCREASES AND DIRECTING A STUDY ON INCREASED COMPETITION IN THE ELECTRIC DISTRIBUTION MARKET. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That chapter 277 of the general statutes be amended to prevent 1 electric distribution companies from increasing delivery rates such 2 companies charge to customers until May 1, 2022, and to direct the 3 Public Utilities Regulatory Authority to study whether increased 4 competition in the electric distribution market would better serve the 5 public interest. 6 Statement of Purpose: To prevent delivery rate increases until May 1, 2022, and to study whether increased competition in the electric distribution market would benefit the public.
