AN ACT REQUIRING ELECTRONIC DEVICE MANUFACTURERS TO
MAKE AVAILABLE ESSENTIAL COMPONENTS OF ITS ELECTRONIC
DEVICES TO OWNERS AND INDEPENDENT REPAIR SERVICE
PROVIDERS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to require that electronic device 1
manufacturers make available, on reasonable terms, the documentation, 2
parts and tools needed to diagnose, maintain and repair such 3
manufacturers' electronic devices to owners of such electronic devices 4
and independent repair service providers of such electronic devices. 5
Statement of Purpose:
To require electronic device manufacturers to make available, on
reasonable terms, the documentation, parts and tools needed to
diagnose, maintain and repair said manufacturers' electronic devices.
