1818 AN ACT CONCERNING A REAL PROPERTY OWNER'S
1919 RESPONSIBILITY FOR EXPENSES INCURRED WHEN TREES OR
2020 TREE LIMBS FALL ON AN ADJOINING OWNER'S REAL PROPERTY.
2121 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2222 Assembly convened:

2424 That the general statutes be amended to impose liability on the owner 1
2525 of real property for the expenses of removing a tree or limb from a tree 2
2626 located on such real property that falls on adjoining private real 3
2727 property, provided an arborist, as defined in section 23-61a of the 4
2828 general statutes, inspected the tree or tree limb and documented that 5
2929 such tree or tree limb was dead, hazardous or likely to fall on an 6
3030 adjoining private property's land. 7
3131 Statement of Purpose:
3232 To impose liability on the owner of real property for the expenses of
3333 removing a tree or limb that falls on an adjoining owner's private real
3434 property.
