AN ACT CONCERNING THE EMPLOYMENT OF ARMED SCHOOL
SECURITY OFFICERS IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That section 10-244a of the general statutes be amended to authorize 1
school resource officers and school security officers to possess a firearm 2
while on duty at a school and to require the state to provide funding to 3
local and regional boards of education for the hiring of school resource 4
officers or school security officers, unless local or regional boards of 5
education already employs a school resource officer or school security 6
officer. 7
Statement of Purpose:
To allow for the employment of armed school resource officers and
school security officers in public schools.
