AN ACT CONCERNING EMERGENCY INTERVENTION BY A POLICE OFFICER WHEN A PERSON SUFFERS AN OVERDOSE. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to allow a police officer to take 1 a person into custody when the officer has reasonable cause to believe 2 that such person is experiencing a drug overdose and the officer has 3 administered an opioid antagonist or taken other lifesaving measures. 4 Statement of Purpose: To allow a police officer to take a person into custody when the officer has reasonable cause to believe that such person is experiencing a drug overdose.
