AN ACT REQUIRING MICROSTAMPING OF SEMIAUTOMATIC
PISTOLS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to prohibit the retail sale of any 1
semiautomatic pistol that is not designed and equipped with a 2
microscopic array of characters that identify the make, model and serial 3
number of the pistol in two or more places on the interior surface or 4
internal working parts of the pistol and that are transferred by 5
imprinting on each cartridge case when the pistol is fired. 6
Statement of Purpose:
To require all models of semiautomatic pistols to be designed and
equipped with microstamping technology.
