1818 AN ACT CONCERNING HEALTH BENEFIT PLANS OFFERED BY THE
1919 TEACHERS' RETIREMENT BOARD, TERM LIMITS FOR BOARD
2020 MEMBERS AND A CAP ON CERTAIN PROFESSIONAL FEES PAID BY

2222 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2323 Assembly convened:

2525 That chapter 167a of the general statutes be amended to: (1) Add one 1
2626 additional member to the Teachers' Retirement Board, who shall be a 2
2727 retired teacher and an enrollee of a health benefit plan offered by the 3
2828 board; (2) create a health care advisory council composed of eight retired 4
2929 teachers, which shall report their recommendations for health benefit 5
3030 plan options to the board; (3) institute a term limit for members of the 6
3131 board, which shall be not longer than three four-year terms; (4) cap at 7
3232 one hundred thousand dollars per year the amount of professional fees 8
3333 that may be paid out of the health insurance premium account 9
3434 established pursuant to 10-183t of the general statutes; and (5) require 10
3535 the Teachers' Retirement Board to offer a Medicare supplemental 11
3636 insurance plan among the health benefit plans offered to retired 12
3737 teachers, which shall be substantially equal in cost and coverage to such 13
