AN ACT CONCERNING THE TEACHING OF CLIMATE CHANGE INSTRUCTION IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That section 10-16b of the general statutes be amended to require that 1 the climate change curriculum in the Next Generation Science Standards 2 be taught as part of the state-wide science curriculum for public schools 3 and that such teaching begin in elementary school. 4 Statement of Purpose: To help close the opportunity gap, further environmental justice and protect the environment by educating all children in grades three to twelve, inclusive, about the role humans have played in accelerating climate change, and equipping all students with the tools necessary to be part of a green economy.
