AN ACT CONCERNING A WORK REQUIREMENT FOR RECIPIENTS 
OF PUBLIC ASSISTANCE. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That title 17b of the general statutes be amended to require that able-1 
bodied recipients of public assistance, including, but not limited to, 2 
medical assistance, are required to work or volunteer unless they are 3 
exempt under federal law. 4 
Statement of Purpose:   
To require able-bodied public assistance recipients to work or volunteer 
to receive benefits unless they are exempt under federal law.
