AN ACT REQUIRING ABLE -BODIED RECIPIENTS OF PUBLIC
ASSISTANCE TO WORK OR VOLUNTEER.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That title 17b of the general statutes be amended to require all able-1
bodied adults without dependents or not otherwise exempted under 2
federal law to work twenty hours weekly, participate in a work training 3
program or do authorized volunteer work in order to receive 4
supplemental nutrition assistance or other forms of public assistance. 5
Statement of Purpose:
To encourage employment among those who receive public assistance.
