AN ACT CONCERNING A MUNICIPALITY'S PARTICIPATION IN THE 
FEDERAL EMERGENCY FOOD ASSISTANCE PROGRAM. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That the general statutes be amended to require the Commissioner of 1 
Social Services to seek approval from the federal government to 2 
eliminate the requirement that a municipality in the state that 3 
participates in the federal Community Eligibility Provision meal service 4 
option file the additional paperwork required to also participate in the 5 
federal Emergency Food Assistance Program. 6 
Statement of Purpose:   
To expand access to federal programs offering food assistance and lower 
barriers to access to food.
